Tufa Cities
In the south of Tuscany, the rolling hills and vineyards of the north give way to a more diverse landscape characterized by, among other things, thick, lush wilderness that is punctuated by outcrops of porous volcanic rock known as 'tufa'.
And we all know that when the ancient Italians (Etruscans/Romans) encountered a volcanic outcrop, it was inevitable that great things would happen.
